On a far-off planet, Smeds and Smoos can’t be friends. So when a young Smed and Smoo fall in love and zoom off into space together, how will their families get them back?

Music, laughs and interplanetary adventures for everyone aged 3 and up, from the team that brought you The Gruffalo and Room on the Broom live on stage.

Paul Escorrido

Paul Escorrido - Bill/Jeffrey Smed

Paul Leandre Escorrido is a proud queer, Filipino performer based in Sydney on Gadigal land. Originally born in the province of Cavite, Paul migrated to Australia in 2007 and grew up, much like every Filipino kid, raised on karaoke, Chicken Adobo and melodramatic telenovelas which explains much of his penchant for performance. Paul completed a Double Degree in Media and Design at UNSW in 2023 and in 2024, completed his training with a Diploma of Musical Theatre at NIDA.

Paul was most recently seen in Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (Pinwheel Productions) at The Hayes Theatre. Prior to this he appeared in the premiere of the new Australian disco musical CONVERTED! by Vic Zerbst and Oliver John Cameron and at the Sydney Fringe Festival 2023 in A Jolly Good Musical. Later this year Paul will return the The Hayes in Once on this Island for Curveball Creative.



Catherine Dominguez

Catherine Dominguez - Grandmother Smoo

Catherine Dominguez (she/her) is a Filipino-Australian actor and singer, raised between the lands of the Cammeraygal people in Sydney and her ancestral home in Manila. She holds a Diploma of Acting from WAAPA and a Bachelor of Music Studies (Jazz Voice) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

Catherine's theatre credits include The Players (Bell Shakespeare's national touring ensemble), Champions (Little Goat Arts & Entertainment) at the Old Fitz Theatre, The Key To The Mystic Halls of Time (Short+Sweet Festival Perth), and Yermaat (WAAPA). On screen, she appeared in the SBS television series Four Years Later (Easy Tiger).

As a soul/jazz singer, Catherine has performed in popular music venues across Sydney, appeared on national television, and toured as a backing vocalist for Australian poet and hip hop artist Luka Lesson.



Cam Ralph

Cam Ralph - Grandfather Smed

Cam Ralph is an actor and voice actor based in Sydney Australia, represented by MCSM and EM Voices respectively.

He has previously trod the boards in Baby with the Bathwater (2024 - Treehouse Theatre,) Managing Carmen, The Lieutenant of Inishmore (2019/2024 - Lane Cove Theatre), The Mona Lisa Five, Death in the Pantheon (2020/2024 - Upper Crass Theatre), Avenue Q (2019 - North Shore Theatre), and the 2017 Short and Sweet Sydney Festival's "Production of the Year": Out of the Woods which he co-wrote/starred/directed with his high school friend Brenton Amies.

He is delighted to be performing the role of Grandfather Smed and will be telling anyone who will listen to never, NEVER play with the Smoos!



Chaya Ocampo

Chaya Ocampo - Janet/Betty Smoo

Chaya is a Filipina-Australian actor, singer, theatre-maker and storyteller proudly born and raised on Darug Land. She most recently starred in Van Badham and Richard Wise’s two-hander musical The Questions at State Theatre Company South Australia alongside Charles Wu (dir. Mitchell Butel).

Her other notable theatre credits include Ate Lovia (dir. Kenneth Moraleda), Gloria (dir. Kylie Bracknell), Godspell at Hayes Theatre Co. (dir. Richard Carroll), Girl Band (dir. Lucy Clements) and Sydney Theatre Company’s Chimerica (dir. Kip Williams).

Her screen credits include Grief (dir. Jon Prasida), Honey (dir. Justine Hinz), Stan series Year Of (dir. Taylor Ferguson) and Linger (dir. Aaryn Bath). Linger won Best Produced Script at the LA Independent Women Film Awards and Best Student Short Film at the WA Screen Culture Awards.

Through her artistic endeavours, Chaya strives to use her voice and humanity to tell more authentically diverse stories on the Australian stage and screen.
